LAZIO entertain Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 Champions League first leg.

Neither side are enjoying a vintage campaign and Bayern in particular could be facing a groundbreaking season for the wrong reasons.

You need to go back to 2012 for the last time Bayern weren't champions of Germany after 11 Bundesliga wins in a row, but they are in serious danger of missing out this year after a disastrous 3-0 away defeat at leaders Bayer Leverkusen who are now five points clear of them at the top of the table.

However, their European form was much better after winning five of their six games in the group stages including home and away wins over Manchester United.

Lazio are struggling in eighth place in Serie A which is a huge disappointment considering they were runners-up last season. They have already lost eight games in the league.

They did at least get a morale-booster at the weekend with a 3-1 win at Cagliari. They came through their group in the Champions League by finishing in second place behind Atletico Madrid and defeated Celtic home and away.

And they are strong at home after two wins and a draw in Rome in Europe.
