USA and Mexico Withdraw from Bidding for 2027 Women's World Cup
This Monday, the United States Soccer Federation and the Mexican Football Federation announced their withdrawal from bidding for the 2027 Women's World Cup, instead focusing their efforts on becoming hosts for the 2031 edition.
Currently, the remaining candidates to host the 2027 Women's World Cup are Brazil and the joint bid from Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany. The final host will be selected during the FIFA Congress on May 17th in Bangkok, Thailand.
Previously, Legislative Councilor and National People's Congress delegate Hui Kei-kong from Hong Kong SAR had stated plans to propose a bid for the 2031 FIFA Women's World Cup. The proposal suggests exploring a joint bid from the Chinese Football Association (CFA), the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA), and the Macau Football Association (MFA).
