Gomez is open to new challenges and hopes the club will consider any reasonable offers

According to English media outlet Anfield Watch, Gomez is open to new challenges and hopes the club will consider any reasonable offers, although he is not pushing for a transfer.

Anfield Watch believes that if Gomez decides to leave Liverpool this summer, returning to London would be his preferred option. However, his departure could potentially have an impact on the new head coach Slot and the entire team.

So far this season, Gomez has made 30 appearances for Liverpool, starting 16 times, making it his most active season in the Premier League since winning the title with the team in the 2019/20 season. The versatile defender has left a deep impression in several positions for Klopp's team this season, playing as a center-back, right-back, left-back, and even as a defensive midfielder.

Although Gomez's contract with Liverpool runs until 2027, it's reported that the club will not entertain transfer offers for him, as the difference between his expected transfer fee of £22 million and the club's valuation is negligible.

It's worth mentioning that Gomez is the only player remaining from Klopp's initial squad when he took over Liverpool in 2015, as Milner and Henderson both left the club last summer.

Reports suggest that rumors of Gomez's departure may be linked to Liverpool's interest in 23-year-old Feyenoord defender Hidde Ter Avest. In the 2022/23 Eredivisie season, Ter Avest played under Slot and became a key player for the championship-winning team.

Additionally, Fenerbahçe's Dutch left-back Ferdi Kadioglu has also been linked with Liverpool. Throughout his career, Kadioglu has played as a right-back, winger, and midfielder, making him a versatile addition to the team.
