Slot is hesitant about signing Geertruida

According to the Mirror, Liverpool's new manager Slot is not keen on signing his former Feyenoord player Geertruida. Tottenham is currently leading the race for the player's transfer.

Reports indicate that Geertruida is highly interested in leaving Feyenoord this summer. Apart from Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig are also potential destinations. The defender was seen in the Liverpool away fan section during the Premier League match against West Ham in April. The Dutch international also posted on social media, leading to speculation that he might be considering a move to Anfield. With a current market value of £25 million, Geertruida is well within Liverpool's acceptable range.

However, the Mirror reports that Slot is hesitant to make Geertruida his first signing. He is wary of following in the footsteps of fellow Dutchman Ten Hag, who struggled after heavily relying on his own players. Slot's hesitation could benefit Tottenham, who reportedly scouted Geertruida regularly last season and have been in frequent contact with him. Despite this, PSG and Leipzig remain strong contenders in the race for the player's signature.
