Chelsea Youngster Paez Becomes Second Youngest Goal Scorer in Copa America History

In the second round of Group B in this year's Copa America, Kendry Paez's penalty helped Ecuador secure a 3-1 victory over Jamaica, earning their first win of the tournament.

According to statistics, Kendry Paez, who has already been signed by Chelsea, scored at the age of 17 years and 53 days, making him the second youngest goal scorer in Copa América history. He is only surpassed by Montaño, who scored against Argentina for Colombia in the 1999 Copa América at the age of 16 years and 171 days.

Additionally, only three players under the age of 20 have scored penalties in Copa América history, and all three are from Ecuador. Besides Kendry Páez (17 years and 53 days), there is Erwin Ramirez (19 years and 242 days) in 1991 and Jorge Larraz (19 years and 329 days) in 1957.
