Although Ajax could re-sign Antony for half the price, they still have reservations
The UK's Daily Mail reports, citing the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, that Ajax has reservations about re-signing Antony.
Manchester United signed Antony from Ajax for £86 million in the summer of 2022, but the Brazilian winger has not lived up to expectations since then. So far this season, he has only made four appearances for United, with one start, scoring one goal.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United is willing to loan Antony out during the winter transfer window to increase the chances of selling the Brazilian international permanently next year, currently valuing him at £40 million.
Recent reports have suggested that Ajax is considering re-signing Antony. However, the Daily Mail cites De Telegraaf's report, stating that even though United's current valuation of Antony is less than half of what they paid to bring him in from Ajax, the Dutch club still has concerns about signing him back, as they are unsure whether the player's current mental state is suitable for him to rejoin their team.
