-----------------------------------------------------------------
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham will be without Wilson Odobert, who is ruled out with a hamstring injury. Son Heung-min missed training today, and he is a major doubt as well. Spurs are likely to rotate their squad ahead of a packed schedule. They are expected to shape up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Fraser Forster in goal.

Archie Gray and Djed Spence are likely to be deployed as the full-backs, and they will look to help out at the back and create goalscoring opportunities going forward as well. Radu Dragusin will start at the heart of the defence defence alongside Ben Davies.

As for the midfield unit, Rodrigo Bentancur will start alongside Pape Matar Sarr and Lucas Bergvall. The Uruguayan international will add defensive cover and drive to the side. Sarr will look to protect the back four and break down opposition attacks. Bergvall will add creativity to the side. Dominic Solanke will lead the line for Tottenham here, with Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner on either side of him.

AZ Alkmaar
The visitors are without Bruno Martins Indi, Mees de Wit and Lequincio Zeefuik. AZ Alkmaar are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Tottenham, with Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro in goal.

Seiya Maikuma and David Moller Wolfe will start as the full-backs. They will look to protect their side defensively and hit Spurs on the break. Alexandre Penetra and Maxim Dekker will start as the central defenders.

Peer Koopmeiners and Jordy Clasie will start in the midfield pivot, and they will look to add defensive cover and drive to the side. Sven Mijnans will be deployed in the number ten role, and he will look to create opportunities for his teammates in the final third with his passing and vision.

Ibrahim Sadiq and Ruben van Bommel will start in the wide areas. They will look to add pace and flair from the flanks. Troy Parrott will lead the line against his former side.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Bergvall; Moore, Richarlison, Werner

AZ Alkmaar possible starting lineup:

Tottenham vs AZ Alkmaar Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
*Tottenham have never faced AZ Alkmaar before, but they do have an interesting history against Dutch opposition in Europe. The last time they played an Eredivisie team was in 2021, when they beat Vitesse 3-2 in the UEFA Conference League. Before that, of course, they defeated Ajax in one of the all-time great comebacks to make the UEFA Champions League final in 2019.
*Tottenham should come into this match full of confidence after this past weekend. Ange Postecoglou's side crushed West Ham 4-1, erasing the memories of their poor 3-2 defeat to Brighton two weeks prior. They are now unbeaten at home in their last three matches there.
*In contrast, AZ suffered a poor 1-2 defeat to PSV Eindhoven on Saturday in a game that saw them reduced to ten men. They have now lost their last four games in a row after going unbeaten in their first seven fixtures this season.
*This game could be viewed as the 'Troy Parrott derby', as the Irish international moved to AZ from Tottenham in a permanent deal this summer. The forward never made his mark in North London, but scored ten Eredivisie goals for Excelsior last season. He's now netted six goals in his first eleven appearances for AZ this season.
*Tottenham could look to start Brazilian striker Richarlison in this game. He returned from a long injury issue to make an appearance from the bench on Saturday, and Ange Postecoglou may look to rest top striker Dominic Solanke and give him a run-out here

Prediciton: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 AZ Alkmaar
Spurs have looked composed and comfortable in the Europa League so far despite an early red card against Qarabag and late consolation by Ferencvaros. AZ's woeful recent form, struggles in England and Spurs' excellent home record in this competition suggests there is only one winner from this contest.
