Balotelli: Could have returned to Serie A during the winter transfer window
Mario Balotelli, currently playing for Turkish side Adana Demirspor, revealed in an interview that he had the opportunity to return to Serie A during the winter transfer window and join Salernitana under the management of Massimiliano Allegri.
"At the time, Salernitana wanted to sign me, but their formal offer didn't come until the last minute, and by then, I had already decided to stay in Turkey," Balotelli said. "The whole situation was handled poorly. I was supposed to go to Salernitana, but the negotiations took too long. If a club really wants you, negotiations can be sorted out even within a day."
The 33-year-old Balotelli returned to Adana Demirspor in September last year on a free transfer from Swiss club Sion. This season, he has made 5 appearances for Adana Demirspor, including 1 start, scoring 3 goals.
