Marotta: I did indeed disagree with Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo
Inter Milan's CEO, Marotta, stated in an interview that Juventus signing Cristiano Ronaldo was not the reason for his departure from the club in October 2018.
"I must admit that the 10 years I spent at Juventus were wonderful. When the club's owners wanted to adopt a different strategy, managers had to take a step back, and that's what I did at the time. Respecting the club's wishes was the right thing to do. I didn't entirely agree with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, but my disagreement wasn't with the player himself; rather, it was challenging from an economic standpoint," Marotta said.
"It wasn't Cristiano Ronaldo who caused me to leave Juventus. I chose to leave because my cycle at Juventus had come to an end, and we needed to make changes."
"What did your experience at Juventus give you, and why did you choose Inter Milan?" "All my experiences have been important for my growth. My experience at Juventus was equally important, as it instilled in me a culture of winning, which is about pursuing every detail and addressing every small problem. Today, we have a belief in victory, which was also validated in the Champions League final, where we lost, but we realized that there was room for improvement. I worked at Juventus for 10 years, alongside professionals, and from that, I gained important things for my growth."
