South Korean Media: Klinsmann Criticized for Lack of Tactics

Officially announced today, the Korea Football Association has sacked Klinsmann. The main reasons cited are the team's failure to advance beyond the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup and internal discord within the team. According to previous reports, the Korea Football Association will need to pay Klinsmann a severance fee of 8 billion Korean won (approximately €5.59 million).



South Korean media outlet "MT Sports" discussed Klinsmann's past, stating: "Eight years ago, Klinsmann was dismissed from his position as head coach of the United States national team by the United States Soccer Federation. At that time, he received a severance fee of approximately $6.2 million. During his tenure as head coach of the United States national team, he only led the team to victory in the 2013 Gold Cup and reached the round of 16 in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil before being fired due to poor results in the World Cup qualifiers for Russia."
