Olivier Giroud is set to leave the club this summer and join Los Angeles
According to the French newspaper "L'Equipe," AC Milan forward Olivier Giroud is set to leave the club this summer and join Los Angeles in Major League Soccer.
Los Angeles goalkeeper Hugo Lloris previously had a long spell at Tottenham Hotspur, while Giroud has played for both Arsenal and Chelsea, two clubs also based in London. According to the report, these two Frenchmen are now set to become teammates in the United States.
After three seasons with AC Milan, Giroud will become a free agent this summer, while Lloris joined Los Angeles in January this year. However, Giroud has not yet signed any contract with Los Angeles, as there are many administrative issues to be resolved for this transcontinental transfer. Despite several European clubs trying to convince him before he signs, Giroud's intentions are clear.
Furthermore, "L'Equipe" also suggests that although Giroud has verbally expressed interest in participating in the Paris Olympics, Los Angeles is likely to require him to report immediately after the end of the European Championship. Therefore, Giroud is unlikely to accept any invitation from Henry.
