Giannis Antetokounmpo: "If we don't win a championship this year, I might get traded."
Recently, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke with reporter Sam Amick, stating: "If we don't win a championship this year, I might get traded."
Giannis said, "Yes, if we don’t win a championship this year, I might get traded. That's just how our job works. That's the world we live in. It’s like that for everyone."
"Honestly, that’s just the job," Antetokounmpo continued. "That’s our profession. At any time, if you don't succeed, it could be over for us. That was the case for the previous coaching staff, the past year, and for players in prior years. If you don't perform well enough, you're out."
As the new NBA season approaches, in two preseason games (against the Lakers and Bulls), Giannis continued his strong form, scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in one game, and 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in the other. Last season, he played 73 regular-season games for the Bucks, averaging 35.2 minutes per game with 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks, while shooting 61.1% from the field.
